LIK Hampi

It gives us great pleasure to announce the Louis I Kahn Program at one of India's most celebrated UNESCO World Heritage sites- Hampi, Karnataka from the 6th to 8th of October, 2023. (3 days)

Louis I Kahn program aims to help students to learn the art of documentation in it's entirety. The intent of the workshop is an intimate process of understanding how to observe, record and analyse any historical structure, leading to better appreciation of the same.

The tutors for this program are Ar.Pankaj Modi and Ar.Bakul Jani.

Ar.Pankaj Modi is a Conservation Architect and a Technical Coordinator at INTACH, who has worked in the field of conserving heritage for more than two decades. He led the team at INTACH to prepare a Dossier which formed the basis for a successful inscription of Sacred Ensembles of the Hoysalas as India's 42nd World Heritage List. He is also a Tedx speaker and visiting faculty for postgraduate studies at many colleges of architecture.

Prof. Bakul Jani, Associate professor at RV College of Architecture, Bangalore. He has been the recipient of a fellowship from the American Institute of Indian Studies, Indian National Science Academy and Centre for Mutual learning. He has been an adjunct faculty at CEPT in Architectural & Settlement Conservation 2009-2012. 

The program would be open to 30 students based on their interests. It will focus on publishing a documentation booklet with all the students!

Note: The travel charges have to be borne by the student from both sides upon intimation of successful candidature. Common Accommodation will be provided at expense per day by NASA India.
