In the realm of Indian culture, the Balakati area is a testament to Odisha's rich cultural heritage and exquisite craftsmanship. Balakati village is situated in the Puri district of Orissa and is one of the best traditional manufacturers of brass, bell metal utensils, and temple articles.
For this LIK Balakati program, we aim to document the living or residential structures, their typology, and the influence of their craft on their houses such as ornamentation, materials, color, etc.
Location: Balakati, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Dates: 13th & 14th January, 2024
Fees: Rs 800/- for 2 days lunch and refreshments (Resident of Bhubaneswar only) and
Rs 2800/- for 2 days including stay, breakfast, lunch, and refreshments
