NASA India presents the Bamboo Construction Program initiated under the Summer Winter School Program. This program aimed at acquainting students with the primary objective is to train and impart creative skills to motivate the younger architectural generation of India to use their creativity and Imagination in creating job opportunities, protect the environment, and preserve Art and Culture.
The program will be conducted by Ar Richard Belho who is the co-founder of Zynorique. Zynorique Initiatives in coordination with several State Departments has conducted a number of hands-on training, workshops, and seminars to train and equip the local youths with desired professional skills. These training, workshops, and seminars have reached out to the local populace and have provided them with the necessary skills so that they can be self-reliant. The objective of the training will also be to provoke young people to understand the dignity of labor and realize the opportunity they can avail themselves through the imparted professional skills.
The program will be conducted in Nagaland (Kohima) for 10 days from the 25th October - 4th November 2022 by Zynorique. 25th October will facilitate the zero-day for the program and the bamboo construction program will resume on 26th October morning.❗️
The program would be open to 16 students who will be selected on the basis of the statement of purpose from students regarding their interest in the program and what bamboo as a medium of construction would cater to their future endeavors in architecture. The 16 students will be divided into two teams of 8 and will be working on individual bamboo construction projects including but not restricted to structural & building services. Final output will be featured in NASA India's flagship annual magazine "Indian Arch".
Note- The travel charges have to be borne by the student from both sides upon intimation of successful candidature. Food and accommodation will be provided at the cost of NASA India, for selected students.
